My Approach:
I strive to create a space where clients feel free to be and explore their authentic selves and become more aligned with their personal values. Feeling seen and heard is the cornerstone of human connection and I approach therapy with the goal of truly hearing each client’s story. I believe that individuals hold the power to heal and therapy is merely a vessel for that process to occur. I strive to be a witness of every client’s story with all its sorrow, pain, and joy. I believe in meeting each client wherever they are and assisting them in their journey to become the person they want to be. I strive to create an affirming and nonjudgmental space and would love to work with you.
About Madi Turner:
My professional education began while studying psychology for my bachelors degree. While working on that I had various experiences in the mental health field. I worked with women and girls overcoming eating disorders at a residential treatment center. I interned with the Division of Child and Family Services and worked with children and families within the foster care system. And I had the chance to work with survivors of sexual assault as a crisis counselor. After graduating in psychology I worked as a case manager at a community mental health clinic assisting clients that deal with chronic and persistent mental illness. The clients I met and got to know throughout these experiences had a profound impact on me. I saw firsthand the healing power of a safe, therapeutic relationship and witnessed the resilience of the human spirit. I believe deeply in our ability to overcome and change.
I am currently a student at the University of Utah and in the process of earning a Master of Social Work degree. When I’m not at work or school I enjoy exploring the beautiful Utah mountains, trying new recipes, reading, and listening to live music.
