“The world is full of painful stories. Sometimes it seems as though there aren’t any other kind
and yet I found myself thinking how beautiful that glint of water was through the trees.”

About Emma Morton
My name is Emma Morton (they/them) and I am in my second year attending the University of
Utah’s Master of Social Work Program. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from
Westminster College in 2018. After graduating, I worked as an intern at Encircle facilitating the
trans adult friendship circle and found my love for working with support groups and my passion
for facilitating organizational community engagement and change. I spent my first year of the
MSW program doing case work and gender affirming therapy for trans and queer individuals and
facilitating a neurodivergent queer support group. My goal is to facilitate safe, inclusive,
compassionate, collaborative, therapeutic spaces and environments for the queer, gender diverse,
and trans community. I believe in advocating for accessible gender and neurodivergent affirming
care and that building community is one of the most valuable ways for creating and advocating
for systematic change.
I am from Salt Lake City Utah and live with my partner and three cats. I enjoy plants, trees,
flowers, going on walks, spending time outside, and playing video games.
