My Approach:
I am still developing my approach but I generally come at interactions through the lens
of collaboration, authenticity, accountability, and positivity. I wholeheartedly believe in
the power of simple behaviors and actions like coping skills and daily mindfulness.
About Trace Hollingsworth:
My career path in behavioral health began with a graveyard shift at a residential
addiction treatment facility where most of my duties involved cleaning and filing
paperwork. This position, however, allowed me to interact with the clients that lived at
the facility every morning and I began to develop a deep admiration and respect for
everyone that I met there. I loved that my job allowed me to learn things that I could
then use to more fully understand my friends and family that struggled with many of the
same issues that the clients in the facility experienced.
I spent the next couple years working in adult residential addiction treatment centers
until I had the opportunity to manage a different residential facility that served as an
alternative to incarceration for adult men who suffered from serious mental health
issues. That eventually led to my current position where I help oversee a few programs
(a mental health outpatient clinic, a facility for court-ordered treatment, and the
PASSR/Medicaid divisions) for a non-profit in Salt Lake City. I am still continually
impressed by the tenacity, compassion, and patience of the people that my work allows
me to connect with. I am very excited to continue to learn and grow at Red Willow
Counseling.
Outside of work, you will almost certainly find me spending time at home with my family,
watching movies, reading books, or attempting to cook Japanese cuisine. I am very
much a homebody but also enjoy spending time with friends, going out to eat and to the
movie theater, spending time in the mountains, and visiting historical sites.
