About Candace Hatfield
I pursued my love for this field when I started as a Wilderness Therapy Guide back in 2017, working under the stars and covered in dirt alongside adolescents struggling with various emotional, behavioral, psychological or neuro-diverse challenges. From there my experience and connection only grew as I worked in multiple residential facilities and a school district with adults and adolescents over the years.
My experience is rich in diversity working with adults, adolescents, first responders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, Autism/Neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+, addiction, self harm, mood disorders, self worth, crisis interventions, grief, trauma, life transitions, and ABA behavioral modalities.
Now at Red Willow, I get to apply and foster what I love most with heaps of empathy, a little dark humor (if/when appropriate),and therapeutic approach rooted in evidence-based practices whether sitting in an office or choosing to have a session outside walking.
In my spare time you’ll find me giving my whole heart and endurance toward my mediocre skills in mountain bike riding, or any biking. Hiking, live music, camping, and attempting to make earrings. (yes, I will wear them to sessions proudly)
