“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above…, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. … [T]he thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

About Kirra Jensen
Hello! My name is Kirra Jensen (they/she), and I am in my second year of the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the University of Utah. I was drawn to this work because of the powerful experiences I had seeking support from mental health professionals personally and working in hospice care. During my studies, I have had the opportunity to be engaged in research to help expand our understanding of therapy outcomes, telehealth treatment, and the experiences of transgender and non-binary clinicians. During my first year in my MSW program, I also had the opportunity to work at a center specializing in LGBTQIA+-affirmative care, where I strengthened my passion for supporting this community and became involved in advocacy work and community collaboration. As a therapist, I value a person-centered approach, and my goal is to create a space that is accepting, compassionate, and collaborative to support my client’s growth.
I live in South Jordan with my partner and our houseplants. I love building Lego, playing music, practicing yoga, and watercolor painting. I also love to be outdoors and find time to hike, rock climb, swim, and snowboard in our captivating landscape. I enjoy fantasy and fill my time with reading, listening to Dungeons & Dragons podcasts, and playing role-play games.
I look forward to learning more about you if you think we will be a good fit!
